Teak can be left natural or stained depending on which fits best with your style and other patio decor. You can increase your teak patio furniture's natural protection from the weather by applying any of the various oils and treatments that are readily available.
While wood patio furniture does require a little maintenance every few years, but it is worth it to maintain its natural beauty. You can prolong the life of your wood outdoor furniture by covering it during the off-season with a waterproof fabric. And wood furniture should not be placed directly on the lawn for long periods of time, which could expose it to excessive moisture. Just putting something between the wood and the grass is all the protection that is needed.
